These days I don't smell the licorice at all in it. I cant wait to layer this with my more masculine scents! If you dont like liquorice in perfumes, stay away!!!
Terrible, would not bother to give it another try. Don't let that discourage you from wearing it - the nostalgic aspect just adds to the comforting vibe I get from this. If you like smelling like dessert with a little spice, musk, etc, this is it! the first time I smelt this I wasn't crazy about it for whatever reason, I randomly bought it on an amazon sale and I'm IN LOVE with it.
Ill have to pass on this because it gave me a headache.
Very sweet, yes, but with a musky bite that at least attempts to ground everything. Great one for such a low price! If you had someone who was unfamiliar with the scent or scent notes they would probably just say cotton candy and baby powder. It's super gourmand and it smells absolutely fantastic!
Sillage is ok. Not my favorite, but nostalgic feelings weigh heavier.
This is 1 of my top 5 that I keep in rotation.. I have to be in a specifically sweet mood for it, but when I wear it, whew, it projects! she is cheap in price but her longevity and silliage is better than some of my $100+ perfumes!
It's nothing like it was in the cooler weather. It lasts 8-10 hours on my skin and it literally smells like I just sprayed it. I know people will hate me for what I'm about to say but it needs to be addressed. The initial spray was okay, but I wasn't wowed. What I appreciate about this scent is that it actually smells like sugar, sweets and cake, and isn't super artificial smelling. Not much sweetness or caramel going. However, you have to like very sweet scents! And it's not even an Eau de parfumvery good. It also smelled a little bit synthetic. This was out and popular before I appreciated the cotton candy category. But thats mostly my fault for not checking my options first.
smells so good, not too sweet but like a warm vanilla scent. Its amazing for the price and I love the smell, Im just not settled yet. Cotton candy, that's what I smell.
The PERFECT scent to layer with Bare Vanilla by VS. Caramel and sugar are what I get from this perfume. Extreme Cake baking is the national sport, and Duff Goldman is a national war hero. This is a nice scent for all ages to wear, and very lovely! Iconic.
I have all three and while they have sugary/cotton candy sweetness in common, they are three distinct, lovely fragrances in their own rights. it smells identical to those ugly little bottles of hello kitty perfume you get as a kid that you don't like but you spray anyway because you have nothing better to do. I only bought this cus of the hype but friends, this one truly shocked me! The bottle is the cutest. A lot of people use pink sugar to layer with other fragrances.
I now primarily get vanilla and lemon, a combination I love. This scent smells so delicious that my mouth aches for sweets sometimes wearing it. So it was technically a blind buy but I don't really mind. This scent and I are one and the same, I refuse to be perceived outside of this scent.
Cotton candy, sugary, caramely goodness. It's so sad because this scent is SOOO AMAZINGGG. Everyone on social media raves about how much they love pink sugar. And the value of this perfume is insane, I feel like anyone who loves gourmands needs to have this in their collection because it's so easy to work with. So if you didn't like this at one time, you might want to try again. but for the price i cant complain. The baker's district is the new "Red Light District". I can't see a very young teen or pre-teen loving this scent just because of how strong the licorice is.
Sweet, spicy (due to the licorice) caramel. I was expecting a sweet candy-like perfume but instead I feel like I'm being punched in the face by the liquorice. Luckily it's very affordable too. This is best candy floss fragrance in my opinion. This is not at all what I was expecting - I was thinking it would be simple and sugary sweet but it's actually a very powdery, comfortable wear. Extremely feminine and has a sophisticated feel to it. Feeling nostalgic, I decided to pick up the body spray of this at TJ Maxx and - omg - it's so much better than the actual perfume! Ive heard people with clear juice say they hate it. However, I had to wash it off. If you find yourself missing this but disliking the cloyingness, I definitely suggest giving the body spray a go!
I'm thinking others have older bottles. Keeping it in my collection from now on. Unfortunately I didn't like this myself. I loved how sweet and cotton candy - like it was. I blind-bought this 2 days ago after reading all kinds of raving, positive reviews along with all the female YouTubers raving about this one being a big compliment getter, and how much men LOVE this.
I wonder if this gets sweeter with age. Can be overpowering when first sprayed but in the dry down turns into a nice scent similar to custard.
I hate licorice and can't smell it in here fortunately for me.
longevity is insanely good, a true bang for your buck. No surprise! If you like very sweet scents, this is definitely a blind buy. It's very gross. Now I appreciate the licorice because it gives a unique, identifiable twist on the generic sweet perfume.
It smelt exactly like this.
As the dry-down begins, lip-smacking cotton candy (easily my favorite part) starts to peek through breezy waves of sandalwood; a total surprise, as I was envisioning some sort of hyper-juvenile fragrance, when its ultimately more complex than that. I was so excited for this to be a sugar bomb but all I smell is a peculiar mixture of licorice and powder? i also dont get how its immature and for young teens only, i personally dont find it childish at all. It was still cheaper than the one bottle of a usual designer frag. Initially when I spray it, I get punched in the face with the liquorice note.
Its not a bad smell, its just nothing much in my opinion. Its goes to a more comforting vanilla sweet scent that wont give you a headache . It does smell a bit powdery at first on my skin, but after 30 minutes or so the powdery note disappears and it becomes so beautiful, sweet, sexy and comfortable scent. I blind bought it several years ago (a 1.7 fl oz) and honestly I havent even gotten halfway through my bottle yet. I cannot go wrong with this, I thought. But this is really nice and a good first perfume for anybody with a sweet tooth and I can see myself wearing this on and off for the rest of my life. With all the noise I've heard about this fragrance, I was shocked at how awful and nauseating it is. Boyfriend thinks it's sexy in a youthful, playful kind of way.
I find it screechy and offensive. If you loved "Love at first glow by J.lo" back in the day as much as I did, this is a good replacement. I'm nearly 30 but I can't give this scent up. OMG, I'm in love!! But after a while on the skin it gets really good and so soft. This was originally a blind buy for me.
If you like sweet and licorice, this may be for you. I've avoided Pink Sugar for so long. Immediately, I get black licorice drizzled with powdery caramel alongside a soft touch of green fig and bergamot. I want to love it so bad and wear it with pride but I can't.
First and ONLY perfume I ever completely finished besides various loves baby soft aerosol cans when I was 5-6 years old. Simply amazing if your a sweet perfume lover.
Plastic, completely synthetic cheap smell that one can get a diabetes from by just sniffing. Pink Sugar has always smelled like a grown woman fragrance stuck in childish packaging to my nose. Smells like cotton candy sugar cookies and warm caramel l bottled up.
The tonka, caramel, vanilla and cotton candy come out with some warmth. NO. On me it stays sweet like a vanilla cookie but it does have something sexy in there that I cant quite put my finger on. I use it once in a while for the nostalgia, or I layer it with scents that need a dose of sweetness. Lovely and sweet scent, good for value . I first tried it in 2012 and I didn't like it. Although, I am not a fan of the opening scent. I got this today, first 10 or so sprays were a disgusting plastic sweet burnt caramel scent that was nauseating.
With that in mind, I absolutely hate this perfume. An another successful blind buy.
I got it from a ross for almost 30 dollars and found it for 9 almost a week later. Im shocked at how much I like this.
i wish this fragrance worked with my skin, i was feeling all the vibes.
This is what a unicorn would smell like. It has this drunken, love at first sight quality that I appreciate a grown up cotton candy for sure. But now I LOVE it. There's one singular thing that makes me hate it and I can't put my nose on it. I blind bought it because of the hype, bad decision.
I was afraid I was too old for it but It goes great with most florals and gourmand fragrances.
If you are an extreme gourmand lover this is for you. My only complaint is that pesky licorice note in it.
My boyfriend smells the good stuff but I sadly don't. Maybe it's just my body chemistry but the strongest scent I get in this is by far the licorice.
In general I prefer more fruity scents but Pink Sugar is amazing for what it is. however, for the past 10 years ive been buying an incense called pink sugar from a local spiritual store and never really connected the dots behind its inspiration - i really think if this ever received another update, the incorporation of a woody-resinous note akin to the kind present in the incense sticks would really make this my holy grail fragrance. Its been said that if you have Fantasy, Fancy, or Pink Sugar, you dont need the two you dont have because all three are so similar.
I like to layer this over traditionally "masculne" fragrances to make them more "feminine".
I was super disappointed because, like most young teenage girls, I loved smelling like the sweetest most sickly scent I could get my hands on.
If you want to smell like sweet licorice, this is for you.
The licorice note only lasts for the first ten minutes for me, thankfully, and the rest of the wear time is just sugary warmth with a little nuance of berry on top. It's nothing fancy, a simple cotton candy vanilla scent that almost has a lemony undertone on my skin after a bit of wear. A little goes a long way, sillage and projection are beast mode! BUT the drydown is spectacular.
However, it's so strong and the smell is sickly sweet instead of pleasantly sweet. How glad I am that I ordered the smallest bottle. And Barney is Chief Justice. I find it perfect for a walk in a park on a sunny day, I think it requires some air to shine through.
I avoided this fragrance for years bc I assumed it was a cheap teeny boppy scent I am way too grown to wear. Amazing!
Its flirty and sweet but with some depth. I hadn't smelled it for a while and I smelled it recently and it doesn't have that same appeal to me as it used to.
Quite genuinely the best longevity out of any perfume I've tried. I want to say its the licorice. Together, though, omg OMG I cant have enough of them and Im also getting compliments left and right. This was a blind buy and actually not what I expected at all. I love to wear it to bed. I've even come to appreciate the tacky packaging. Sometimes I really crave this one, sweet burnt sugar, cottoncandy.
Longevity is bad. And I'm going to rock it whenever I please because I understand it and it understands me. My only complaint is I think this would thrive if the noticeable licorice note wasn't there (it goes away as it sets in though) but other than that it's so reliable and lasts without a need for a touchup!
I smelled the body mist at a discount perfume counter some years ago and even my adolescent Ariana Grande loving self gagged at the cavity inducing sweetness. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this smells. Oh how it brings back memories of carefree childhood days!
I bought mine brand new so I have no idea, just thought Id make a side note of it. Lady Gaga is President, Britney Spears is Vice president. I love this, it is straight up cotton candy and super super super super sweet. It's mature enough for sexy classy women to wear.
I am over the moon to have found this! I had mistaken it for Love's Baby Soft and discovered Loves that way lol I would see it at stores or hear about it on YouTube but never realized it was my missing puzzle piece.
I got a little bit of the licorice or musk/sandalwood and it was nothing short of "awful." This will always be apart of my collection for sure. Excellent for layering if some fragrance needs to be sweetened up, but quite loud and potent so if you layer with a gentler perfume go easy on the nozzle.
Really long-lasting cotton candy licorice.
I always have a FOMO when it comes to these cult classic perfumes. I'm a gourmand girl through and through, and while I'd love to have a bottle of Lira one day, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Pink Sugar! I LOVE this scent, was my signature for the longest time. It's the only perfume in my collection for which I can confidently say I hate it. There are worst perfumes that this, but going by the raving reviews, I guess I am an alien because I cannot understand what all the fuss is around this one. It is a hardcore No.
I have never met an in-between. Idk why but it gives me dancer vibes. Lasting power is excellent, lasts more than a day. It's very sweet, but not headache inducing. I wish I hadnt blind bought this!
Wow. When first applied via vial sample it smells like burnt sugar and is strong and alcoholic (reasonably since its not dry.)
Liquorice make this a bit dark and spicy. Followed by Nazi Teletubbies, Hansel and Gretel running from some old woman that wants to eat them. I could see them layering nicely with the fruity category also. just stick through the very burnt/plastic/artificial berryish opening and wait about 10 mins for the cozy caramel, cotton candy drydown. I'm always skeptical of EDTs but this one actually LASTS. It is elegant and appropriate for any age. i myself am a lover of gourmand, vanilla, and anything sweet smelling in general so i had to buy it! At first i was skeptical if I would like it or not with the licorice note in it (i am NOT a fan of anything licorice) but this is actually a really pretty scent! This smells especially great layered with the Christmas Cookies Body Cream from BBW. I really like Pink Sugar, I liked how it smelled immediately out of the bottle and when it settled on my skin it just smells like luscious vanilla, caramel and marshmallow.
This would be a good smell for teen. I don't get other people saying it smells synthetic/burnt rubber or heady. I caved in and bought a bottle, it's actually good. bottle). Very light and sweet. Not classy at all but super sexy.
Personally this isn't my style, however my more peppy friend fits it perfectly. I admit, I bought this based on the mainly positive reviews.
I don't quite understand all the negative reviews for this, if you don't like to smell like a sugary sweet confection with an extra puff of powdered sugar on top, you shouldn't wear this.
Super sweet licorice.

Gets a bit sweater in the dry down, but unfortunately the licorice stays througout its lifetime. I dont know how it possible to make a perfume that sugary. Like what candy is this supposed to smell like?
everyone has it and buys it after so long. I really don't understand the hype with this one, I bought it and immediately sold it. But it was really nice for a young woman. The comments have brought it to my attention, Pink Sugar is a nauseously sweet but my mind can't ignore the BURNT essence and the pepper? Based upon the many positive reviews I blind bought this because it wasn't available for testing anywhere. Synthetic with a hint of true sugar sweetness.
Sweet, sexy, and alluring! Try it now and thank me later. Everyone's dying their hair in Manic panic (not just the cool people that can rock those colors). I smell a little bit of Angel but it was too geil for my nose. Well, the more I've gotten into fragrance, the more I've realized that it's silly to be snobby, expensive isn't always better, and finding something awesome for cheap is a good thing, actually.
This is perfect for winter as it has a sugar-plum fairy vibe.
I do not consider this perfume to wear to work. This is my bedtime fragrance, and I would definitely repurchase. It is not sophisticated in the slightest and definitely appeals to a younger audience, but it smells good and to me that's all that matters!
