Let cure in an area with good air flow for 4 weeks. Tallow, by far is one, if not the best material for soap (especially for skin). And the result: Oh WOW its incredible!! You can neutralize everything with vinegar.
SoulEnergyHerbs If you burn sea plants, you get sodium carbonate. I recommend wearing gloves, long sleeves, and eye protection when working with lye. I know that these thing can seem a little bit intimidating at first, but dont let that stop you from getting started with learning how to make soap from scratch.

The recipes Ive seen, the flowers get swapped out for fresh ones at some point and its left to steep for at least a week, some say several weeks. I imagine you could make soap with Crisco, but Ive never tried it personally. I also have access to some tallow. If I do not have an immersion blender, would a hand-held mixer do the job alright? I put stiff cardboard on the ends, cover one side with wax or parchment paper. A local butcher asked me to make soap out of the tallow he has. I used to make & sell soap, and then things changed and I quit doing the Farmers Markets. Not really a substitute for lard/tallow. If I use unfrefined coconut oil for the scent will that mess anything up? Yes, measure everything by weight, including the water. I havent, but Im betting itd work almost the same as lard. Iv used sheeps milk soaps from farmers markets and its helped myy itchy skin.
Im a mom of 4 and a certified GAPS coach. However, during the soap making process, we do have to handle the lye, and its important to use some care. Who knows WTH is going on, certainly NOT me. The two CP batches of soap that i made from the same rendered suet have developed DOS. Mix until it has reached trace, the light pudding consistency. But when I switched to lard the bar was smooth and left my skin feeling great.
