This Villa was the absolute highlight of our Amalfi Coast trip. The Duomo dates back to the 11th-century paying tribute to St. Pantaleone. In our opinion, this is not the place to pinch pennies. For a break from beaches, one of the unique things to do in the Amalfi coast is to hike through the deep valley named for the medieval foundries, whose ruins you can see here. You must go out on the water to truly take in the splendor of this coast and one of the top attractions in Almalfi is located just a few kilometers outside of the town of Amalfi is the small town of Conca del Marini which is famous for the Emerald Grotto. There are cheaper parts of the coastline but it definitely has a higher price tag than other parts of Italy. Another way to see this coast, and the best for those in good physical condition who have the time, is on foot or a combination of walking and bus travel. The Amalfi Coast consists of 13 charming towns that cling to the dramatic cliffside.
