I anticipate the Hyperion to last about twice as long as the ZF. The three locally owned stores partnering with RDP are Fleet Feet Raleigh located on Wade Avenue, Fleet Feet North Raleigh, and Fleet Feet Morrisville. If I could make a suggestion to Brooks it would be to lower the drop to 4-6mm (maybe add more cushioning to the forefoot? I found I could do everything in the Turbos, but the Hyperion Tempos were just a little too firm for me in these two cases. These shoes have large lugs underneath for confident traction and supportive uppers to lock down the foot on uneven terrain. I feel that there is good energy, just wish there was a little more cushion. I love people, and I love life. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. I know they are running shoes but am not in love with the Ice Blue. The focus is on protection and soft foam underfoot with hardly any ground feel. The Hyperion Tempo has a more comfortable upper and more durable outsole. P.S. However, after a few runs, the cushion just felt "dead" for lack of a better word. The fit, the midsole, and the overall ride are great. Responsive and comfortable. Maximum stability shoes have features that greatly stabilize the foot and limit almost all arch collapse. For me, it was love at first stride. My middle-aged platypus feet were not a match for these speedsters. I recommend you buy for the features of the shoe, not the brand. The laces are stretchy and take a bit of getting use to but I was able to achieve a good lockdown and feel more stable than in the previously mentioned Nikes. Very impressed with the non-squishy, non-injury-inducing ride. I have put about 100 miles in them, and am finding it hard to reach for any other shoe in my rotation. Probably the best shoe I have ever run in when it comes to daily miles, though i suspect it can be a great race day shoe too. Runners feel faster with every step, and a step closer to reaching their goals. But you know what ,I liked it so much that I kept it. My biggest complaint is the short tongue, would like it to be a cm longer, if you use a runners loop to tie down the heel the laces are sitting on your sock at the end of the run. What I wasn't anticipating was how well the upper fits. There's more room in the toe box than any of my Hoka's so that's a total win. Not plush and cushy feeling like some shoes, but not as stiff and hard as I thought they might be.
